Statue of Unity, India: Biggest Statues in the World
The Statue of Unity in Kevadia, India, is the biggest statue in the world, standing at a height of 182 meters. It is more than three times taller than the Statue of Liberty and twice the height of Big Ben. The statue honors Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the leader of Indian independence who led his country to independence from British rule in 1947 and held the positions of first Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister.
Part of a vast complex, it is situated close to the Narmada dam. To assist collect some of the iron needed to erect this enormous monument, local farmers were urged to give equipment. However, the statue stands at a height of 182 metres (597 feet).
Spring Temple Buddha, China
The Guinness World Records lists the Spring Temple Buddha as the tallest statue in the world until November 2018. Sendai has been well-known for its “Thirty-Three Kannon Pilgrimage Course” since the 18th century. Sendai Daikannon’s construction was probably influenced by this path, which is still walkable today.
